We’re going to be including a film component to this years upcoming event and we’re very excited!
the REEL Food Festival… as in Film, will be running alongside the Real Food Festival.
Here’s the program.
One of the documentaries to be featured is,
The Greenhorns, a documentary about young farmers.
The movie will be showing at the RSL Hall in town on Saturday 8 September at the RSL Hall.
Doors will open at 7:15 PM for a 7:30 start. Tickets will cost $10
The Maleny Film Society has generously offered to co-sponsor the event and contribute volunteers for setting up, putting chairs away and projection. Tea/coffee and slices will be available. The RSL will run the bar.
Tickets will cost $10 for the general public and $8 for concession and MFS members. Gold members will have to pay members entrance fee. Children 16 and under are free. The proceeds will go towards covering costs and a screening fee to the co-op filmmakers. $1 from every ticket will be returned to the Real Food Festival who is responsible for publicising the event.
The films which will be screened are two from eco-flicks (5 minutes each). Greenhorn, a US commercial doco about young people returning to the farm (50 minutes), and the 4 co-op films varying from 10 to 25 minutes each. The filmmakers will be on hand to introduce their films.
And you could win…
There will be two Food Matter DVDs for door prizes so tickets will just be numbered door prize tickets.
